Proof before press
Nothing prints without your written approval on a proof that shows trim, bleed and fold. If we got it wrong at that stage, the reprint is on us.
Melek Core Graphics is a design studio and print house at Plot 35A, Iganga Road, opposite Baba Arcade, in Jinja City. Everything from the first sketch to the last staple happens in one building, which is the only reason we can promise a deadline and keep it.
Anyone who has printed in Uganda knows the pattern. You approve something on a phone screen, collect a box, and discover the logo has gone orange, the trim has eaten the last line of the address, and the fold is 4mm off. So you pay again.
We built the workflow around stopping that. Every job gets a PDF proof with the trim and bleed marked, and nothing goes to plate or press until you have said yes to it in writing. On colour-critical work we pull a physical proof on the actual stock. It adds a day. It saves a reprint.
The second half is owning the machines. We are not a shopfront that carries your job down the road to somebody else’s press and marks it up. When a sheet comes off wrong, the person who can fix it is standing next to the machine.

Verbal numbers drift. You get an itemised quote you can hold us to, and it stands for fourteen days.
Source artwork is handed over at the end of the job. If you take your next run elsewhere, you leave with everything you paid us to make.
If a job needs something we do not have, we say so and point you at whoever does. That is cheaper for you than us pretending.
Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, CorelDRAW for legacy client files, and a calibrated proofing workflow. Files are trapped, imposed and colour-separated before they go anywhere near a plate.
Short-run colour on coated and uncoated stock from 80gsm to 400gsm. This is where most business cards, flyers and sub-1,000 runs happen.
Spot and process colour for long runs — books, letterheads, NCR sets, exercise book covers. Pantone mixing for exact brand colours.
Eco-solvent roll printing for banners, vinyl and plan drawings, plus mounting and cutting for signage.
Screen printing beds, heat press and embroidery. Artwork is digitised in-house so repeat orders are quick.
Guillotine, creaser, numbering and perforating, laminator to A3, spiral, comb and perfect binding, plus stamp making.
